5 DAYS 4 NIGHTS GOLDEN TRIANGLE (DTA/GDT)

DAY 1: BANGKOK – CHIANG RAI – CHIANG SAEN

Pick up clients from various major hotels in Bangkok and transfer to Bangkok Domestic Airport for flight TG 130 (11:15 – 12:40 hrs), bound for Chiang Rai. Arrival at Chiang Rai Airport and go by transfer to the deluxe Le Meridien Baan Boran Resort, located at the Golden Triangle Area. No lunch included. The afternoon is reserved for a wonderful boat trip on the mighty Maekong river and sail along the border of Thailand, Laos and Myanmar (formerly known as Burma), better known as the Golden Triangle. We return back to hotel. No dinner included. Overnight at Anatara Resort & Spa Golden Triangle.

 

DAY 2: CHIANG SAEN (B, L)

American breakfast at the Resort Go by 4 WD to the border between Burma and Thailand at Mae Sai, the northern most point of Thailand: visit the colorful local market, displaying times from Burma, China and the hill tribe. Proceed on an unpaved road to Wat Phra That Doi Tung, one of the oldest temples in Thailand, passing by Baan Pah Hi, and Akha hilltribe classical village and Doi Chang Mub. Lunch box at Mae Fah Luang Royal Gardens, Enjoying the view of several species of tropical as well as western plants and flowers. Proceed towards Doi Mae Salong.Stop en route various time to some of the numerous hill tribes still remain their traditional way of life. Drive to Doi Mae Salong, a Chinese mountain settlement. After a short visit, descend from Mae Salong on the main road via Mae Chan to Baan Husai Saan, a traditional Akha village. Descend on unpaved road to Mae Chan and to the hotel. No dinner included. Overnight at Anantara Resort & Spa Golden Triangle.

 

DAY 3: CHIANG SEAN (B, L)

American breakfast at the Resort. We depart to Sop Ruak, a small trading village and also the point, where Thailand, Myanmar and Laos meet. Enjoy a river-cruise inside typical long tailed boats over the Maekong river along the Laotian border, downstream to Chiang Kong. We pay a visit en route at a Laotian weaver factory. Lunch en route at a local restaurant. Proceed by 4-wheel drives to Chiang Saen, the ancient capital of ancient Thailand on the way, stop at the village of Baan Moung Karn, a traditional Hmong hill tribe village. Arrive to Chiang Saen, visit the a famous temple in this area; the Wat Phra That Jom Kitti, a majestic temple, build on the banks of and overlooking the mighty Mekong at the border with Laos. Also a visit to the Wat Chedi Luang, an antique, massive stupa with tall teakwooden trees cannot be forgotten. Return back to the hotel. No dinner included. DAY 4: CHIANG SAEN – CHIANGMAI (B, L, D)

American breakfast at the Resort. Check out of the resort to Chiangrai by making an appox. 1,5 hours boat trip over the Maekok river to visit en route some of the hill tribes living on the river banks. Return to Chiang Rai for a Thai lunch at a local restaurant. After lunch, proceed by bus through Wiang Papao with a stop en route at a hot spring. Late afternoon, we arrive in the “Rose of the North”- Chiangmai, where you will be treated in the evening with a traditional Kanthoke dinner with various shows and performances of the hill tribes, living in Northern Thailand, before returning to the hotel for the night over. At Pang Suan Kaew.

 

DAY 5:      CHIANGMAI (B)

American breakfast at the Hotel. Visit Wat Phra Thad Doi Suthep (built in 1384), the colorful Staircase (Naga) and beautiful Chedi containing a holy relic of the Load Buddha; a Panoramic view of the Chiangmai city can be seen from here at 3,500 feet above sea level. Finally, we transfer to Chiangmai Interrnational Airport for flight TG 111 (14:15 – 15:25 hrs.) to Bangkok, from where we bring you to your hotel in Bangkok � end of services.
